Introduction & Summary
Welcome to our research study on the Efforia platform! Your participation and financial contribution make this study possible. We’re exploring how Exogenous Ketones may influence hunger and fatigue levels. This document will help you decide if you want to join. Your participation is voluntary, and you can leave the study at any time without any penalty. If you have questions, please ask before proceeding.
Efforia is a citizen science platform where studies are effectively sponsored by you, the participants. Unlike traditional research studies, you pay for all the supplies, services, information, and tools needed for participation in one transaction. This makes studies possible that might not be otherwise.
Although you could buy these products and services separately for a similar cost, Efforia bundles them into one purchase for convenience. Efforia organizes these items and provides instructions to create a comprehensive, data-driven research experience. This setup allows you to track and understand the impact on your own life via detailed outcome reports, making informed personal health decisions easier. It also advances broader research findings, benefiting others who might not afford such purchases without guaranteed results.
Efforia is committed to equitable inclusion. If the cost is too high for you, click the large Efforia logo at the top of the screen to explore other protocols. Efforia offers protocols on various topics at different price points, including free options, so you can find one that suits your goals and budget.
Purpose of the Study
The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether consuming Exogenous Ketones can reduce hunger and fatigue in the late morning. Exogenous Ketones are supplements that provide an alternative energy source for your body. We will measure the impact using the Hunger Perception Survey and the PROMIS Short Form v1.0 – Fatigue 8a. This study aims to contribute to scientific knowledge about dietary supplements and their potential benefits and to help you make informed health decisions based on your personal data.
What You Will Do as Part of this Study
While participating in this research study, you will need to:
- Be willing and able to follow the study directions and procedures
- Tell Efforia about any side effects or problems by communicating with help@efforia.com or online chat.
- Ask questions as you think of them, via help@efforia.com or online chat.
- Inform Efforia if you change your mind about staying in the study. You may leave the study at any time by communicating with help@efforia.com or chat.
Once you have completed enrollment, payment, and entering your personal details, shipping details, and communication preferences, here is what is involved in the study:
Participant Responsibilities and Tasks
As a participant in the Impact of Exogenous Ketones on Hunger and Fatigue study, your primary responsibility is to consume an Exogenous Ketones Drink Mix daily with your normal breakfast over a 30-day period. This will help us assess the impact on late morning hunger and fatigue levels.
Schedule and Timeline
The study spans 30 days, during which you will undertake specific tasks. It is essential to adhere to the timeline meticulously to ensure the reliability of the data collected.
Treatment Activities
- Daily consumption of the Exogenous Ketones Drink Mix with breakfast.
- Complete the Hunger Perception Survey and the PROMIS Short Form v1.0 – Fatigue 8a, both before and after consuming the drink.
Frequency of Activities
Surveys and measurements will be conducted daily throughout the study period. This regularity is critical for capturing the subtle changes in hunger and fatigue levels.
Importance of Adherence
Adhering to the schedule and accurately completing the surveys are crucial for the integrity of the study. This will help in evaluating the potential benefits of the Exogenous Ketones Drink Mix effectively.
The Risks, Discomforts & Benefits of Being in this Study
There are some unique risks, discomforts, and potential benefits of being in this study that you should understand.
Consider your Own Risk-Benefit Comfort Level
Participants should thoroughly weigh the risks and benefits of participation. We are placing more responsibility on you to make the right choice than in a traditionally sponsored trial. It is possible that not all risks and benefits are currently known. Participants have the responsibility to consult with their healthcare providers and conduct further research before enrolling in the study.
Personal and Overall Findings
Efforia will provide you with both personal outcomes and overall findings. These findings will be available at various data collection points throughout your experience in the study or as they are discovered by Efforia. The results and findings may impact your interest and willingness to be involved in the study. Remember that participation is voluntary, and you may exit at any time with an email to help@efforia.com.
Possible Benefits of Participation
Participating in this study offers the potential benefit of discovering whether Exogenous Ketones can help curb your hunger or reduce fatigue. You will receive personalized reports detailing your own experience, which may aid in making informed health decisions. Additionally, your participation contributes to broader research, potentially benefiting others who may want to try this intervention. However, there is a possibility that there will be no measurable benefit to you, other than seeing reports that the intervention or treatment had no measurable impact.
Possible Serious Adverse Events & Side Effects
In the Case of an Adverse Event
If you experience any serious adverse events while using the Exogenous Ketones Drink Mix, such as severe allergic reactions, breathing difficulties, or signs of ketoacidosis (extreme thirst, frequent urination, confusion, and fatigue), it is critical to seek immediate medical care by dialing 911. After addressing any acute situations, please inform Efforia about the incident so appropriate measures can be taken and the event can be documented for further review.
Introduction and Summary of Known Risks
The Exogenous Ketones Drink Mix is generally considered safe for short-term use. However, it can cause various side effects, particularly when consumed in high doses or without proper medical oversight.
